Hawke
is a Sea Scout group, which has been based on the edge of Opoutukeha
or Cox’s Bay since 1928.
All scout groups in New Zealand have a similar structure, lead by a group leader, who is supported by a group committee and group council. The group committee ensure the financial stability of the organisation and the continuation of reliable infrastructure. The group council is made up of all the leaders from all the sections and works to deliver a good programme within the scouting framework. Each of the sections delivers a programme relevant to the age group and progression between the sections is carefully managed in consultation with parents and section leaders.
