Hawke
Sea Scouts, Auckland - based in Coxs Bay, between Westmere & Herne Bay
As
well as being lots of fun, Sea Scouts is about non-formal education,
where skills are learnt and teamwork is encouraged. Sea Scouting has
been providing excitement and challenges in a structured safe environment
for the last century. One hundred years of experience has resulted
in an effective and enjoyable activity programme. In addition to boating
skills & qualifications, sea scouts acquire outdoor, first aid,
citzenship and leadership skills.

Well established with a century of experience behind us. Hawke has a long history of being an important part the local community, by providing activities for young people for nearly 80 years and part of a worldwide youth programme and leader training programme first established in 1909. The group is large and successful, regionally and nationally, but more importantly the local youth get a great deal of enjoyment and experience from being part of Hawke. All levels of scouting are supported from 6 through to young adult and we have a good balance of boys and girls. Our focus is on developing leadership and confidence within the scouting framework using the sea as the place to learn and enjoy maritime skills. This is all achieved through the support of the community and a fully volunteer team of parents (who also have some fun). |
