On
New Years Eve 2005 the 25th National Regatta began on Motutapu
Island. Hawke was first on stage for the evenings performance
- delivering it in a style which reflected its the approach
to the whole regatta, with enthusiasm and to the best of
their abilities. We also publicly celebrated the birthday
of one of our leaders - probably the first time he has had
so many people sing to him.
The event was a great sucess with Hawke gaining second place overall and the
leaders' setting the example by winning the open cutter and (much to their surprise)
the shooting competion.
